I started this blog in June of 2015. I chose the name, “PRAYER AND DUCT TAPE” because it totally fit my family.
Prayer is essential to my daily life. It just is. I am too weak to do this life on my own. I love me some Jesus. Big. I love praying the rosary, which is simply a way to meditate on the life of my Jesus in a more thoughtful way. I love the insight and clarity I get from prayer.
As a mother of eight children, there are situations that come up where I.have.no.answers. I have come to the conclusion that I don’t have to have all the answers, I just have to cling to the One That Does.
So, that’s why I chose the word “prayer.” But what about the “duct tape?”
Oh my stars. My children, mainly my five sons, are always building something. They love to create things out of boxes. They love making swords.
Inevitably, their creations are held together by duct tape.
Just the other day one son asked me to sew his Nerf Gun vest. I investigated and told him that we’d need to buy heavy duty needles and thread, my flimsy thread wouldn’t hold it. Thirty minutes later he came in from the garage and he had it neatly put back together…with duct tape.
I’m telling you,
My big Catholic family is held together, literally, by
Prayer and Duct Tape.
